Closebye is one of my favorite local bands here in NYC and though we’ve been friends for a while didn’t have an opportunity to work together until 2026, when I engineered and co-produced a couple of excellent tracks for them. It took as maybe 3 sessiosn total, both at Thump and at home to get these songs in shape and I’m really happy with how they came out. Each band member is an incredibly talented musicians and producer in their own right, and it was awesome to watch these songs come together so quickly, everyone bringing their own flavor to it.

Recorded/co-produced by me and mixed and mastered by James Krausse.

Upcoming LP from Brooklyn-based artist Léna Bartels. I recorded this album mostly live in the Cadosia School House with an absolutely all-band. Léna and I finished up the record at Thump Recording and Studio E in Brooklyn as well as my home studio. Léna and I have been friends for years and our tastes and sensibilities really clicked on this album. I even helped shoot a music video for one of the early singles, Bad Sugar.

Co-produced by Lena Bartels and myself

Recorded and mixed by me.

Mastered by Ryan Weiner

Featuring:

Léna Bartels- Vocals, Guitar, Rhodes, Piano, Organ, Percussion, Drum Programming (track 5)

Micah Prussack- Bass (track 2-4, 6-9)

Izzy Oram Brown- Guitar (track 2-4,7,9) Vocals (track 6)

Andrew Emge- Drums (track 2-4,7,8)

Kai Barshack- Drums (track 9)

Jess Prussack- Accordion (track 8)

Logan Chung- Guitar (track 8)

Nicole Rodriguez- Vocals (track 3)

Laura and I had collaborated before on other projects, but this was our first joint effort for her personal project. We took about a month in the studio to put together a fun collection of songs that inspired her previously released LP. A tinge of Y2k inspired pop, but we were pulling from all over the map.

Recorded, produced, and mixed by me. Mastered by Ryan Weiner.

Was united with Preston and Rylie DeGarmo of Angles through my friend Alex Kasvikis, a talented producer and multi-instrumentalist. Alex and I had met at Thump a year prior and when he brought Angles to Thump to work on their first LP, I was invited to engineer the sessions. We had a great few days working on these songs, finding cool sounds and bringing their vision to life. A lot of hard work on the back end went into this one and I’m proud of them and what they accomplished!

Recorded by me, produced by Alex Kasvikis, mixed by Samuel Rosson, mastered by Connor Gilmore.

Was incredibly blessed to have a small part working on this beautiful album with Nick back in 2024. We did a couple days of “pre-mixing” at Thump, taking Nick’s intricate and sprawling recordings are running sounds through the studios collection of outboard gear, trying to find a sound and vibe for each song before he headed into mixing. Was a really special experience for me.

Recorded by me, produced & mixed by Nick Hakim & Andrew Sarlo, mastered by Heba Kadry.

The debut LP by Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter Nicole Rodriguez. I produced this album with her over the course of 2019 and 2020 at Thump Studios and at home. Our band was:

Charlie Culbert - drums, percussion

Jack McGloughlin - guitar, pedal steel

Julian Smith - bass

Jack Sasner - guitar, lapsteel, sounds

Nicole played a variety of guitars, omnichord, and a cheerio box among other things.

I played some guitars, some bass, drums on two tracks (!), the keys and messed around with synths for a long time.

In 2021, we travelled to Spacebomb Studios in Richmond, VA where we recruited Trey Pollard to arrange and record live string and horn sections.

The album was mixed in 2022 at home.

Sarah Register mastered the album.

The album was released February 10th, 2023 on Spacebomb. Listen to it below:

My first foray into 3D animation, the Collector is a short film that documents the journey of the eponymous eyeball who is searching far and wide through unreal lands for objects of fascination….without realizing that such pining may come at a cost.

Animated using Blender and featuring a track I produced for my 5th album, Earthbound.

A Time In the Light is the second LP and 4th overall release in my series of experimental and ambient explorations. A follow up to 2019’s Flee to Parts Unknown, this record expands on the lofi textures to include more defined synthesizer lines and intricate compositions.

I call this one my "Anti-Ambient" album because as someone with a cripplingly short attention span, I wanted to make something that uses the textures and atmospheres associated with the genre but package them in compositions that are always evolving and have a narrative arc.

The record is an exploration of how we try to understand our past in a way that reflects who we want to see ourselves as in the present. Memories and experiences fade into the background of our minds, leaving behind distorted reflections that we project our emotions onto. Fitting with this theme, each tracks tells its own story through wavering synthesizers, distorted pianos, and abstract ambient textures.

A Time In the Light is accompanied by a full length "ambient" music video as well, for those who need something to distract their eyes so their ears can listen.

The Dawn Age is my 5th long-form project under the Rektagon pseudonym. Inspired by the early era of digital music making, when digital and analog instruments lived in harmony together; the calm before a storm of ones and zeros overtook the world and life as we know it.

In conjunction, I created a music video (my first foray into the format) for the 7th track ‘Crystaline’.

The record is available for streaming and download on all major services.

On occasion, the wind is kind and tho I’ve never sailed, I’ve set my sails proper and run aground half way out the bay. Perhaps some sails and are never meant for wind, not hungry or interested in the kindest offerings of the open ocean. I fear the trap of that freedom, even as I embrace it peeing into the water I still doubt its depths, dangerous or otherwise. I sense this signals not the inherent danger of the sea to my side, but the accuracy to which my instruments inquire.
